3 Easy Mini Envelopes

Have you ever written a letter to someone? Be it a professional formal letter or a personal letter to someone close to you? You must have written one sometimes! But, what about the envelopes you post it in? Do you make them yourself? Purchase them from shops? Which kind of envelopes does your usually purchase? Of course, the formal ones demand formal and plain envelopes, but what about your personal letters? You post them in plain envelopes as well? Or those patterned envelopes? You did, didn't you? But, did you ever make any envelopes yourself? No? The thought of them being hard stopped you every time didn't it? Well, I'll tell you this, it is actually really easy to make them! Here are a few simple envelopes for you to try out. Give those letters a bit more special feel by posting them in your handmade envelopes!

DIY MINI ENVELOPE 1
Materials:
Patterned paper

Method:
1. Take a square piece of patterned paper of size 15 cm, placing the patterned side facing downwards.
2. Fold the paper in half diagonally. Crease well and unfold.
3. Fold diagonally from the other side as well. Crease and unfold.
4. Position the paper like a diamond and fold the two sides towards the center crease.
5. Fold the top towards the center crease and crease lightly at the center. Unfold.
6. Fold the bottom towards the crease at the top and crease well. Unfold.
7. Now, fold the bottom towards the crease line at the bottom.
8. Now, fold the sides at the bottom towards the crease line as shown.
9. Unfold the bottom and pushing the creases inwards, fold the sides and then the bottom crease lines.
10. Unfold again. Now, fold the bottom slightly. Again, fold along the creases.
11. Unfold the sides and pushing the creases inwards, fold again.
12. Fold the bottom downwards without folding the square formed.
13. Now, fold the bottom and bring the sides above the flaps and insert the corners into the pocket formed in the square in the middle.
14. Bring the top to the bottom and fold and crease well. Unfold and then fold the top towards the crease line formed. Crease.
15. Insert the folded end at the top below the square formed in the middle. Voila! Your mini envelope is ready for use!

FLOWER ENVELOPE
Materials:
Patterned paper
Scissors

Method:
1. Take a square piece of craft paper of size 20 cm, placing the patterned side facing downwards.
2. Fold the paper in half and crease well.
3. Fold the top left corner and crease the center. Unfold and repeat with the top right corner.
4. Fold the bottom left corner towards the center crease at the top. Crease well.
5. Fold the paper backwards in half towards the folded corner.
6. Now, fold the top left corner such that it aligns with the folded end of the paper in the center.
7. Fold the paper in half backwards and cut along the innermost layer formed as shown.
8. Unfold the paper entirely.
9. Fold all the sides towards the center crease.
10. Fold the creases at the corners as shown.
11. Fold along the creases and bring the corners together and then flatten it down towards the right side.
12. Continue the same with all the sides.
13. Lock the envelope in place by folding all the corners in the same direction.
14. Voila! Your flower envelope is ready!

DIY MINI ENVELOPES 2
Materials:
Craft paper
Washi tape

Method:
1. Take a square piece of craft paper of size 15 cm.
2. Fold the paper in half diagonally from both sides. Crease well and unfold.
3. Position the paper in a diamond shape and fold the bottom of the paper towards the center crease. Fold again.
4. Fold one-third of the paper inward from the side. Fold from the other side as well.
5. Fold the top down towards the bottom center as shown. Crease and unfold.
6. Fold the upper side flap in half as shown. Crease well.
7. Now, separate the layers and flatten it down as shown.
8. Now, stick some washi tape on the sides as shown, to hold pocket in place.
