Handmade paper flowers have always held a special appeal and beauty. And, despite being so pretty, they are often really simple and easy to make. Here is a simple flower you can make at home.

DIY 8 PETAL LOTUS
Who does not love flowers? Of course, they are one of the most beautiful yet simple creations of this world!. It's an astonishing feel when you look a tree full of blossoming flowers. You can have these paper lotus in a bowl for an added beauty. So why don't we try to create these flowers by applying the art of crafting? It's really easy and fun to make. All you need are a few craft materials and lots of interest to make.

Materials:

Colour paper
Glue stick


Method:

Take a square piece of paper with the measurement of 10cm*10cm.
Fold it in half and fold it again in half and create a crease.
Now open the first fold and bring the top corners together to meet in the middle.
Now fold the bottom corners together to meet in the middle and fold away the top sheet of paper.
Now flip the paper and repeat the steps 2 and 3.
Now turn and open the paper to form an open boat and fold the bottom sides to the middle to create the shape of a petal.
Make 7 more of these.
Apply glue to the bottom part of the petal and tuck in the bottom of each petal inside the other one to form a closed circle.
Take a green color paper for the leaves and fold it in the same way like the petals.
Create a closed circle with the leaves.
Now stick the lotus to the leaf base. You can create a pollen for the lotus and stick on to the center.
Your DIY 8 petal Lotus is ready to adorn your home.



Tips:

You can use any type of paper like chart, cardstock, patterned paper, or even oil paper to make this flower.
You can also draw patterns on a plain paper instead of using patterned papers.
You can use some sombre patterned or embossed paper for a pretty flower.
You can also use old thick magazine papers to make this flower.
