DIY Easy Star Crafts!

DESCRIPTION
Stars have always held a special place in every person’s heart. It is one of those shapes they have grown up seeing. It is a shape that has made its place in several festivals as well, be it as a star-shaped Diya for Diwali, a star-shaped Christmas ornaments, star-shaped lanterns, or even just simple decors that we use during parties. Be it any occasion, stars are a sure thing to be found. And, having grown up seeing these stars almost every day, I have grown really fond of the shape. Maybe that is why I often make star-shaped crafts, be it puffed paper stars, or an easel star or a star bowl. So, here I am, to share my love for stars and crafts with you!

DIY ORIGAMI STAR
There are many things that can be made out of paper by applying a bit of technique. Origami stars look cute but we might think, it's very tough to do! Well, actually it's not. Here is a video of a simple method on how to make an origami star!

Materials:
Craft paper

Method:
1. Cut a square of size 20cm from a craft paper.
2. Fold the paper in half horizontally from the bottom.
3. Now, fold the upper flap from the top left corner towards the center diagonally and crease. Unfold.
4. Similarly, fold from the bottom left corner towards the center diagonally and crease. Unfold.
5. Now, fold the bottom right corner towards the point where the two creases meet. Crease well.
6. Fold the flap backwards such that the corner aligns with the fold.
7. Fold the bottom left corner towards the center such that it aligns with the centrefold.
8. Fold it in half vertically outwards at the center where the two sides align as shown. Crease well
9. Cut off at the top along the first layer as shown. Unfold the paper.
10. Fold the five sides about 1 inch above the center crease point.
11. Fold along the creases as shown.
12. Now, fold all the sides together along the crease line as shown and then flatten it!
13. Turn to the back and fold each leg of the star in half as shown.
13. Voila! your origami star is ready!


DIY STAR BOWL
Crafting gave a whole new meaning to the phrase ‘Best out of Waste’ that people use oh-so-frequently these days. Have a lot of trinkets around your house that you don’t have the heart to throw out? But got no small boxes to store them in either? Don’t worry, because we got your backs.

Materials:
Craft paper
Scissors

Method:
1. Cut a square of size 25cm from a craft paper.
2. Fold the paper in half horizontally from the bottom.
3. Now, fold the upper flap from the top left corner towards the center diagonally and crease at the center. Unfold.
4. Similarly, fold from the bottom left corner towards the center diagonally and crease at the center. Unfold.
5. Now, fold the bottom right corner towards the point where the two creases meet. Crease well.
6. Fold the flap backwards such that the corner aligns with the fold.
7. Fold the bottom left corner towards the center such that it aligns with the centrefold.
8. Fold it in half vertically outwards at the center where the two sides align as shown. Crease well
9. Cut off at the top along the first layer as shown. Unfold the paper.
10. Fold the corners towards the center line crease.
11. Fold again, this time starting from between the folds as shown.
12. Flip to the back and fold, forming creases joining alternative corners.
13. Crease well and unfold.
14. Fold and push along the creases as shown.
15. Voila! Your star bowl is ready!


ORIGAMI STAR
There are many things that can be made out of paper by applying a bit of technique. True, but there is not just one way to make that thing using origami. Here is another simple way to make a star using craft paper by applying the techniques of origami!

Craft paper

1. Take a square craft paper of size 12 cm.
2. Fold it in half diagonally. Crease and unfold.
3. Position the paper in a diamond shape.
