DESCRIPTION
Handmade paper flowers have always held a special appeal and beauty. And, despite being so pretty, they are often really simple and easy to make. Here is a simple flower you can make at home.
CRAFT 1 | Twisted rose
Materials:
Paper
Scissors / Craft knife
Toothpick
Method:
Take a sheet of craft paper and cut it into a square of size 10cm*1ocm.
Fold the paper in half horizontally and vertically and unfold.
Turn the paper around and fold the paper in half diagonally from both sides.
Now, unfold the paper. Pushing the side creases inside, fold the paper into a triangle.
Fold the top layers toward the bottom corner. Separate the layers and flatten it down. Do the same on the other side.
Fold the protruding triangle upwards.
Now, separate the layers on each side and flatten the middle layers as shown in the video.
Turn the paper around. Lift the folded triangle and separate the layers.
Hold on to the middle edge and twist around. Use a toothpick to curl the corner petals.
CRAFT 2 | DIY DAFFODILS
Materials:
Craft paper
Glue
Method:
Take a paper and fold it in half diagonally.
Fold again in half.
Now, bring the two ends sides together and over, curving the paper as shown in the video.
Flatten it down and cut as shown in the video. Unfold.
Fold again as shown and cut off the end.
Take another paper and cut a small circle.
Cut the circle in half. Bring the two ends together and paste them together.
Paste this in the center of the flower.
CRAFT 3 | EASY ORIGAMI FLOWER
Materials:
Craft paper
Method:
Take a square piece of craft paper of any size.
Fold the paper in half vertically. Crease and unfold. Repeat the same horizontally.
Turn to the back and fold all the sides towards the center crease and crease well at the center alone as shown.
Now, fold the paper in half diagonally and crease at the center as shown. Repeat the same for the other diagonal as well.
Turn back to the front. Now, fold the bottom towards the topmost crease line and crease at the center. Repeat for all the sides.
Turn back to the back. Now, pushing along the creases, (push the center of the sides inwards, the middle creases upwards and the center point downwards.) fold the paper and push inwards such that it forms a flower.
CRAFT 4 | Rose with paper strip
Materials:
Paper
Fevi-stick
Scissors
Method:
Take a sheet of paper and cut them into strips of 20cm*2cm.
Paste the three strips together to form one long strip.
Fold one end of the strip at a 45* angle. Fold it once more.
Now, fold the top corner of the paper downwards at a slanted angle as shown in the video. This should form a triangle at the top.
Now fold the triangle twice and fold at the top again. Repeat this throughout the length of the strip.
Secure the end in place using some glue (fevi-stick). Make as many as you desire.
CRAFT 5 | ORIGAMI LOTUS
Materials:
Paper
Method:
Take a square sheet and fold it in half diagonally. Crease, unfold and repeat on the other diagonal.
Fold the four corners towards the center crease.
Again, fold the four corners towards the center.
Turn to the back and fold the four corners towards the center.
Open two folds and curving the paper at the back as shown in the video, fold again.
Repeat for all four corners.
Turn to the front and curl the top layers at the center outwards as shown.
CRAFT 6 | POINSETTIA FLOWER
Materials:
Craft paper
Scissors
Cardboard
Fevi stick
Hot glue gun
Pearl / Bead
Method:
Take a sheet of a4 sheet and turn it over to its back side.
Cut 8 petals each of 3 different sizes as shown. i.e. 8 petals of each size.
Turn the cut paper petals back to the front and fold it in half vertically.
Take a small piece of circle cut out from a cardboard.
Paste the 8 larger sized petals on the outer corner of the circle using fevi-stick, making sure the petals are at an equal distance from each other.
Paste the medium sized petals as the second layer.
Finally, paste the smaller sized petals on the inside as the final layer of petals.
Now, using a hot glue gun, paste a small pearl on the center.
CRAFT 7 | EASY PAPER FLOWER
Materials:
Craft papers
Scissor
Fevi stick
Method:
Take a suare paper of size 10 cm.
Fold in half diagonally. Crease, unfold and repeat on the other diagonal.
Turn to the back. Fold in half vertically. Crease, unfold and repeat the same horizontally.
Fold along creases as shown to form a diamond.
Fold the sides towards the center as shown. Crease and unfold. Cut off the side creases.
Seperate the two layers of the top left flap as shown and inflate it. Make 15 more of these.
Apply some glue on one side flap and paste it in between the two side flaps of another piece.
Repeat for all the pieces, and paste the first and last piece together as shown.
