DIY QUILLED EARRINGS | Quilling | DIY Jewellery
Accessories are always our first love, regardless of whether we be a girl or a boy. It wouldn’t be unusual to find a girls treasure chest filled with different earrings, necklaces and bracelets. Likewise, it wouldn’t be a surprise to find a guy’s drawers filled with bracelets, chains or watches. Yet, these days, with the rapidly rising prices, it is common for many to abandon their passion and love for these little things. So, how to save money but also hold on to your love? Simple! Make them yourselves. So, here is a short and simple tutorial on how to make a pair of Quilled Earrings.

Materials:
Quilling strips
Paper cutting knife or Scissors
Fabric glue
Slotted quilling tool
Ring
Hook
Round nose pliers

Method:
1. Take a quilling strip, fold it in half and cut.
2. Again, fold each strip in half and cut.
3. Repeat the same with another strip of a different colour.
4. Apply some fabric glue on one end of a strip and paste a strip of the different colour on it to get a long strip of two colours.
5. Now, start rolling the strip using a slotted quilling tool by inserting the end of the paper into the slot and then rolling the tool using your hands while holding the paper so it rolls around the tool.
6. Place the rolled up paper on the floor so that it loosens up a bit. Apply some glue at the end of the strip and stick it in place.
7. Now, hold one end of the rolled up paper and press down gently so that a tear-drop shape is formed as shown in the video.
8. Make five more of these of the same colours and size.
9. Now, take a small strip of the first coloured paper and roll it up using the slotted quilling tool.
10. Let it loosen up a bit and stick the end of the strip in place. Do not press down.
11. Now, stick the six tear-drop shaped quilled papers around this circle, forming a flower.
12. Open up a ring using a pair of pliers.
13. Insert the ring into one of the quilled petals of the flower as shown.
14. Insert the hook inside the ring. Now, close and tighten the ring using the pliers.
15. Make another same earring.
16. Voila! Your quilled earrings are ready to be worn.
