Aloo Gobi Masala

DESCRIPTION
Aloo Gobi masala is a simply delicious and irresistible dish. An Indian recipe by origin, this is a semi-dry vegetarian flavourful dish prepared with potatoes, cauliflower and tangy tomatoes.
Aloo Gobi Masala is a popular and one of the most delicious vegetarian curries. This is a recipe that goes well with flour-based chapattis, puris or rotis as well as various rice-based dishes.
A favourite of most kids, as well as a very easy dish to make, filled with the goodness of healthy nutrients, it is a perfect dish to be made for any person, be it a kid, a teen or an elderly. A bit of tweaking with the amount of the spices and this dish can be turned into a dish for every person!

Ingredients:

Boiled Potato
Boiled Cauliflower
Boiled Green peas
Oil - 2 tbsp.
Cumin seeds - 2 tsp.
Asafoetida powder - 1 1/2 tsp.
Onion - 3 chopped
Ginger
Garlic
Tomato - 3
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp.
Salt to taste
Red chilli powder - 1 tsp.
Coriander powder - 1 1/2 tsp.
Cumin powder- 1 1/2 tsp.
Amchur powder - 1 tsp.
Chopped Coriander leaves

Method:
1. Take 2 tbsp. of oil in a wide saucepan.

2. Add 1 tsp. cumin seeds, 1.5 tsp. asafoetida powder and 3 chopped onions.
3. Sauté them well till the onions turn light brown.

4. Once the onion turn brown in colour, add chopped Ginger, garlic & tomatoes.

5. Spice it up by adding 1/2 tsp. of turmeric powder and salt as per taste.
6. Cook till the tomatoes are soft, then add potatoes and cauliflower. Mix well until all the ingredients are mixed together.

7. Finally add peas.
8. Add 1 tsp. chilli powder, 1.5 tsp. coriander powder, 1.5 tsp. cumin powder and 1 tsp. amchur powder.
9. Mix them together and let the dish cook for about 10 minutes.
10. Garnish it with some chopped coriander and serve.


Tips:
Alter the number of spices added to make it a dish that is suitable for the kids and the elderly.

Best with:
This is a side dish that is almost always best when served hot. A dish that goes along with any dish, it can be accompanied with any dish, be it a rice-based dish, roti, chapatti or even a paratha!
