Caramel Custard

Crème caramel, flan, caramel pudding, or Custard Caramel is a delicious dessert with a base of a custard topped with a layer of soft caramel. Caramel Custard is a very popular dessert and is quite simple to make. The great thing about this dessert is that it not only tastes great but needs just a few ingredients which are commonly available in most of the homes.

Ingredients:
Milk - 250 ml (1 cup)
Sugar - 1/4 cup
Egg - 3 no.'s
Vanilla Extract - 1/2 Tsp.
Butter
Boiling Water

For Caramel:
Sugar - 1/4 cup
Water - 3 Tbsp.

Method:
1. Take a pan and add milk and sugar. Heat the milk until the sugar dissolves.
Note: Do not boil the milk.

2. Let the milk comes to room temperature and then add eggs. Whisk the milk and eggs together nicely.

3. Add vanilla extract and once again whisk to blend it finely.

4. Brush the ramekins with little butter.
5. Heat another pan, add sugar and water. When sugar caramelizing Turn off the stove.

6. Add a teaspoon of the caramel to the bottom of the ramekin bowls.

7. Fill it up with custard. Pour boiling water into the tray.

8. Bake the custard at 160-degree centigrade for 40 minutes.

9. After 40 minutes, release the caramel custard from the sides. Place a plate over the bowl and turn it upside down gently.

The most delicious caramel custard is ready to taste!
