Jal Jeera

Ingredients

For jal jeera powder

Jeera / Cumin seeds - 2 tsp
Fennel seeds - 1 tsp
Cloves - 2 nos.
Pepper corns - 1 tsp
Black cardamom - 1 no.

Black salt - 1 tsp
Rock salt - 1/2 tsp
Amchur powder - 1 tsp
Asafoetida powder - 1/4 tsp

For Coriander Mint extract

Coriander leaves - 1/2 cup
Mint leaves - 1/2 cup
Ginger - 1 small piece

Sugar - 3 Tbsp
(diluted in 1/4 cup water)
Tamarind juice - 1/4 cup
Lemon - 1/2 no. juiced
Jal jeera powder - 2 tsp
Water (ice cold) - 2 to 3 cups

Method

First dry roast cumin seeds & fennel seeds separately. Keep aside. Dry roast cloves, peppercorns & Black cardamom together and keep aside.



Add them all in a grinder. Add black salt, rock salt, amchur powder and asafoetida powder. Grind to a nice powder



Now grind coriander leaves, mint leaves & ginger with some water to paste.


Strain the paste




To the liquid add diluted sugar, tamarind juice, lemon juice and mix well



Now add 2 tsp jal jeera powder and ice cold water and mix well.



Strain and serve your multi-flavor jal jeera! Enjoy!!
