It is a hassle for every mother to cook appealing dishes for their kids and families. It is normal for people to get bored of eating the same dishes over and over again so frequently. But, how to keep their meals healthy when they get bored of the food they eat every day? Simple, cook new dishes. We are here with one such simple yet easy and different dish for you to try out at home.

Lemon Idiyappam Sevia is nothing but a lemon flavored rice noodles dish popular in South India. It is not only tasty but it also takes very less time to prepare. It is a very healthy breakfast as it is steamed cooked and is also easily digestible. Let's see how to make this.



Ingredients

Idiyappam
Juice of 2 lemons
Oil - 3 tsp
A piece of Ginger chopped
A few Shallots
Green chilli - 1 cut up
Fresh grated Coconut
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Salt to taste
Roasted Cashew nuts

For Tempering
Urad dal - 1/4 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1/4 tsp
A few Curry leaves

Supplies:

Preparation:
1. Take a large vessel and pour some water into it.
2. Boil the water, turn off the stove and drop the idiyappam in it.
3. Add about 1 tsp. of salt to the pan.
4. Let it cook for about 3-5 minutes.
5. After the five minutes are up, strain the cooked idiyappam so that all the water is drained out and the idiyappam is dry.

Method:
1. For the tempering, heat 3 tsp. of oil in a kadai. Add Urad dal, mustard seeds and cumin seeds to the kadai.
2. Once mustard seeds starts splattering, add the chopped ginger, green chillies and shallots to the kadai, mixing continuously as you add each ingredient. Finally, and the curry leaves.
3. Add a bit of turmeric powder to get a nice colour and lemon juice to the tempering.
4. Now, add the drained idiyappam to the tempering, a little at a time, and keep mixing it until the tempering and idiyappam have been mixed together well.
5. Finally, Garnish the dish with freshly grated coconut and roasted cashew nuts. Serve it hot or cold.
