Moong Dal Namkeen

Ingredients


Moong Dal (soaked and dried)
Oil for deep frying
Salt
Chilli powder / Pepper (optional)


Method

Soak the moong dal in water for 2 hours. Strain and dry it thoroughly



Heat oil in a kadai to boiling point. Take a handful of dried dal in a wire sieve. Dip it in oil and fry the moong dal till its golden brown in color



Transfer to a container with kitchen tissue to absorb excess oil



Sprinkle salt & chili powder (optional) and mix well.



Your crispy Moong Dal snack is ready.







Note: The dal must be completely dry before frying. Else it will absorb lots of oil and you might not get the desired crispness, in which case, fry again.
