Ragda Chaat (White Peas Curry) Pattani Sundal

There are often several chats that can be made using a common base. Ragda chaat is one of those recipes that is a base for several snacks like Ragda Patties, Ragda samosa and Ragda cutlets among several other Indian snacks. This dish is one that takes very little cooking, especially if you have planned ahead and soaked the peas a day before. It actually makes a complete meal when had with some samosa's or cutlets!

Ingredients:
For Pressure Cook:
White Peas - 200 grams
Turmeric powder - 1/2 Tsp
Onion - 1 finely chopped
Oil - 1 Tsp
Water - 1 cup

For Gravy:
Oil - 1 Tbsp
Ginger - 1 Tsp
Chilli powder - 1 Tsp
Garam Masala powder - 1 Tsp
Salt to taste
A few Coriander leaves

Method:
1. Soak the White Peas overnight in enough water.
2. Pressure cook the peas along with some Turmeric powder, Onions, Oil & enough Water.
3. Meanwhile, heat some oil in a pan. Add some ginger-garlic paste, chilli powder and garam masala to the pan. Mix well.
4. Now, transfer the cooked peas to the pan and mix well.
5. Season it with some salt & mash the peas gently to get a thick consistency. (Don't mash them completely)
6. Garnish it with some coriander leaves.
7. Your Ragda chaat is ready! Serve it with some hot samosas or cutlets.
