Savoury chips

Chips are those snacks that everyone is fond of and loves eating. But, ever faced the problem of the chips being too spicy for you? Or not spicy enough? Well, why not make your chips yourselves at home to match your tastes? Here is a simple recipe for you to experiment with.

Ingredients

Maida/All-purpose flour - 1 cup
Red chilli powder - 1 tsp.
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp.
Semolina - 1/2 cup (Buy: https://goo.gl/kNKqC4)
Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp.
Cooking soda a pinch
Salt to taste
Oil for frying

Method

1. In a large mixing bowl add Maida/All-purpose flour, Semolina, Red chilli powder, Turmeric powder, Cumin seeds, Cooking soda, and Salt & mix well.



2. Now add a little water gradually & knead well. Once the dough is ready, take a small quantity and roll it in your palms to form small balls. Roll these balls until they are flat, just like how we make a chapatti.



3. Once rolled, Cut horizontal and vertical lines to form several diamonds shaped pieces.



4. In a pan, add some oil and let it heat.

5. Once bubbles start forming, drop the pieces gently into the pan & deep fry them.



6. Once done, remove the pieces from the pan, draining out all the oil.



7. Your savoury chips are ready to be snacked on.
