Sheer Khurma

DESCRIPTION
Sheer Khurma, more commonly known as kheer among north indians and payasam in the south, is one of those dishes, that every citizen devours happily and is also easy to make. It is a dish you don't get bored of no matter how often you consume it. But, there are many different recipes for this sweet delicacy out there, so why not add our own too? So, here we are, with a different and simple recipe to a dish widely loved among the Indians.

Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 40 minutes
Number of servings: 4 persons

Ingredients

Milk - 1 litre
Roasted Vermicelli - 1/2 cup
Pitted Dates (Seedless Dates)
Raisin
Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
Sugar
Roasted Almonds
Roasted Cashew nuts
Roasted Pistachios

Method:

1. Take a wide pan, place it on the stove and add 1 litre of milk.



2. Once the milk is nice and hot, add 1/2 cup of roasted vermicelli and let them cook completely.



3. Halfway through, add pitted dates (seedless dates), cut up into halves, and raisins and cook them.



4. Add 1/2 tsp of cardamom powder.



5. Once the vermicelli is completely cooked and softened, add some sugar, as per your taste.



6. Finally add roasted cashew nuts, almonds and pistachios.



7. If the consistency of the dish is too thick, add a little more milk to dilute and stir until it is properly mixed.
8. Once it is properly cooked, turn off the stove.
9. Your yummy sheer khurma is ready to be served, warm or chilled!
