Sweet Pongal

DESCRIPTION
Sweet Pongal (Sakkarai Pongal)
Ingredients:

Moong Dal - 1/3 cup
Basmati Rice - 3/4 cup
Water - 3 1/2 cups
Milk - 1 cup
Sugar - 1 cup
Ghee - 1 cup
Saffron in Milk
Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
Roasted Raisins, Cashew nuts, Almonds & Coconut
Pinch of Cooking Camphor

Method:
1. Roast the moong dal and let it cool
2. Mix the moong dal and rice & rinse in water.
3. Put it in a cooker. Add 3-1/2 cup water, milk and pressure cook it.
4. Roast Raisins, Cashew nuts, Almonds & Coconut. Keep it aside
5. Transfer the cooked rice to a non stick pan. Add Sugar and mix gently
6. Add 1 cup ghee at regular intervals and mix
7. Add saffron milk & Cardamom powder
8. Cook till the rice becomes sticky
9. Roasted Raisins, Cashew nuts, Almonds & Coconut and mix gently
10. Finally add cooking camphor and mix gently. Done!
