Warm Up Yoga - Part 2

DESCRIPTION
Warm up exercises help in warming up muscles, increases the flexibility of joints, gets the blood circulating and loosens stiff muscles. Today in 'Yoga and You' yoga expert Rohini Manohar from Chennai Yoga Studio shows us Variations of Yoga Cat and Cow.

How to:
1. Sit in a comfortable posture on the mat, your spine nice and long and your palms resting on your knees.
2. As you inhale, dive down close to the ground and lift your chest up as much as you can.
3. On your exhale, roll your shoulders, pull your belly in and lean back as much as you can.
4. Repeat this three times.
5. Now, as you inhale and come down, stretch your hands in front of you and as you lift your chest up, reach up with your hands and keep your spine long and lengthened.
6. On your exhale, pull your belly in and lean back, your hands stretched out in front of you and then, pull yourself up, dropping your hands to your side.
7. Repeat this three times.
8. Again, inhale, stretch your arms out and dive down before lifting your chest up.
9. Now, as you exhale, lean back and slowly lift your legs up as well.
10. Hold at this position for three deep breaths before dropping your hands and folding your legs again, coming back to the starting position.
11. Repeat this three times.
12. Finally, sit comfortably and relax.
