DESCRIPTION
DIY crafts have been on a steady rise over the years with people opting for these crafts, be it for passing time, making things for themselves that they can’t afford, to give their décors a personal touch or simply because crafting is their passion. It is a hassle-free way to spend your free time that is neither harmful to you nor wasteful.
DIY ACCORDION FLOWER
Materials:
Craft paper
Scissors
Fevi stick
Bead / Pearl
Method:
1. Cut a circle of radius 10 cm from a craft paper.
2. Fold the circle in half. Crease and unfold.
3. Fold the top and bottom of the circle towards the center crease. Crease and unfold.
4. Fold the bottom towards the topmost crease line. Crease and unfold.
5. Similarly, fold the top towards the bottommost crease line. Crease and unfold.
6. Fold the top towards the topmost crease line. Crease an unfold.
7. Fold the bottom towards the bottommost crease line. Crease and unfold.
8. Turn to the back side.
9. Fold the top towards the topmost crease line.
10. Now, fold the crease backwards.
11. Again, fold towards the crease line and then fold backwards.
12. Repeat until the end, forming an accordion.
13. Fold the accordion in half. Unfold. Apply some glue and fold again, sticking it in place.
14. Make two more of these from different colours.
15. Stick the three pieces together by sticking the ends together as shown.
16. Stick the first and last piece together, forming a flower.
17. Stick a bead or pearl in the center.
18. Voila! Your accordion flower is ready!
HEART WALL DECOR
Materials:
A4 craft paper
Stapler
Scissors
Method:
1. Take a sheet of a4 craft paper and fold it in half along the vertical (longer) side.
2. Unfold the paper and fold it in half horizontally.
3. Turing the paper around clockwise 90 degrees, cut an arc at the top and a curve at the bottom as shown in the video.
4. Now, unfold the paper and fold the bottom such that it aligns at the center crease.
5. Unfold and fold again to meet at the newly created crease at the bottom.
6. Unfold again and fold the bottom to meet at the bottom-most crease. Turn the paper around and fold again to meet the bottom crease.
7. Turn the paper around once more and fold again to meet the bottom crease.
8. Continue folding alternatively all the way until the center crease.
9. Repeat the same on the other side.
10. Now, turn the paper around and fold at the center crease.
11. Fold the paper in half horizontally as shown.
12. Unfold and fold the paper again outwards.
13. Now, staple the two ends that meet in the center as done in the video.
14. Trim the pointed edges at the two sides using scissors.
15. Your heart shaped wall decors are ready. Give your room a lovey-dovey romantic feel by using these heart décor’s to adorn your walls.
EASY PAPER FLOWERS
Materials:
Craft paper
Scissors
Stapler
Fevi-stick
Pearls (beads)
Method:
1. Take a sheet of a4 craft paper of any colour.
2. Fold the paper in half horizontally as shown.
3. Fold the paper in half twice more.
4. Now unfold the paper. The craft paper must have 7 creases dividing it into 8 equal parts.
5. Now, fold the paper alternatively along the crease lines, like an accordion.
6. Again, fold the paper in half horizontally as shown.
7. Unfolding it, staple twice at either corner of the crease line formed.
8. Now, cut off the edge of one corner in a slant.
9. Fold the paper, and aligning the paper, cut off the other corner too.
10. Now, unfold the paper and applying glue on the longer side, fold it again, sticking the paper together as shown.
11. Now, apply glue on the longer side of one corner, and pulling the paper around to the other side, stick the two corners together.
12. Paste a pearl in the center.
13. Voila! Your paper flowers are ready to decorate your walls.
