Pav Bhaji Chaat

Pav bhaji is a fast food dish from Maharashtra, India, consisting of a thick vegetable curry fried and served with a soft bread roll, commonly known as Pav. Who doesn't love those yummy street foods of the North? The northern states of our country are famous for their road-side stalls selling spicy chats and refreshing drinks! One such dish made famous on these road-sides is the Pav Bhaji. It is nothing but a curry to be had with some pav. Some even prefer to have it with toasted bread! And, people may think it is pretty tough to make, but nah! It is a really easy dish to make once you know the proper measurements and technique! So, here is a simple and easy recipe to make this dish!

Pav Bun
Potato - 2 no.'s
Carrot - 2 no.'s
A few Beans
Tomato - 2 no.'s
Cauliflower - 1 cup florets
Capsicum - 1 no.
Onion - 1 no.
Chilli powder - 2 tsp.
Pav Bhaji masala - 1 tsp.
Salt to taste
A few chopped Coriander leaves
Lemon - 1/2

Step 1 - Pressure cook the vegetables. Add little water to the pressure cooker. Then add the potatoes, carrots, beans, cauliflower & salt and pressure cook it.

Step 2 - Bhaji Masala
1. Take a wide saucepan and add butter.

2. Add chopped onions and saute it for 2 to 3 minutes.

3. Add chopped capsicum and saute.

4. Once they turn light brown in colour, add the tomatoes..

5. Season with salt, chilli powder, Pav Bhaji masala and mix well.

6. Mash the cooked vegetables and add it to the masala.

7. Add butter again and cook for 2 to 3 minutes.

Your Bhaji is done!

Step 3: Pav Bhaji
1. Toast the Pav buns with butter.

2. Garnish it with onions, chopped coriander leaves & squeeze the lemon on top.
