2 Quick and easy rice recipes

Onion Rice
Ingredients

Cooked rice/Leftover rice - 1 large bowl
Oil - 3 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
Urad dal - 1 tsp
Chana dal - 1 tsp
Red chili - 2 nos
Hing/Asafoetida powder - 1/4 tsp
Onion - 2 nos thinly sliced
Green chili - 2 nos chopped
Curry leaves
Salt to taste

Method:
1. Heat oil in a wide pan.
2. Add mustard seeds, urad dal, chana dal, red chili and hing/asafoetdia powder.
3. Once the mustard seeds starts crackling add the onions, green chili and curry leaves.
4. Saute the onion till it turns golden brown color.
5. Then add salt, cooked/left over rice and mix well.
6. Your Onion rice is ready to serve.


Garlic Rice
Ingredients

Cooked rice/Leftover rice - 1 large bowl
Garlic - 6 large cloves
Ghee - 1 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
Urad dal - 1 tsp
Chana dal - 1 tsp
Red chili - 3 nos
Hing/Asafoetida powder - 1/4 tsp
Curry leaves
Pepper
Salt to taste

Method:
1. Heat ghee in a wide pan.
2. Add mustard seeds, urad dal, chana dal, red chili and hing/asafoetdia powder.
3. Once the mustard seeds starts crackling add the garlic slices.
4. Roast the garlic till it turns golden brown color.
5. Then add curry leaves, cooked/left over rice and mix well.
6. Season it with salt and pepper.
7. Garnish it wih chopped coriander leaves.
8. Your Garlic rice is ready to serve.
