Puffed Rice Upma

DESCRIPTION
Who doesn't get bored of cooking and eating the same dishes for breakfast every other day. So, why not experiment with new dishes? Today, we have a simple dish for you to try out. A regular everyday dish with a little twist. Try this Puffed rice upma to surprise your taste buds.

Ingredients:

Puffed Rice - 1 packet
Oil - 3 tsp
Urad dal - 1 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp https://goo.gl/5Y356X)
A few Curry leaves
Onion - 2 finely chopped
Carrot - 1 finely chopped
Boiled Green Peas a few
Green chilli - 1 finely chopped
A piece of Ginger finely chopped
Roasted Peanuts - 3 tbsp https://goo.gl/WqVjnA)
Water - 1 cup
Lemon - 1/2
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Chilli powder - 1 tbsp
Salt to taste
A few Coriander leaves

Method:

1. Heat some oil in a pan https://goo.gl/p388R2), add urad dal & mustard seeds.
2. Once the mustard seeds start splattering, add onions, green chilli, ginger, and curry leaves. Sauté it for a few minutes.
3. Once the onions turn transparent, add the carrots, peas, salt, turmeric powder, chilli powder and roasted peanuts to the pan and mix well.
4. After 2 minutes add the puffed rice and gently mix it.
5. Pour a cup of water to the mix and let it cook for 2 minutes.
6. Then add coriander leaves and lime juice to complete the dish.
7. Your simple & delicious Puffed Rice Upma is ready to be served.
