Rice Cutlet

DESCRIPTION
Samosa’s, Vada's and cutlets. Near every roadside stall that sells these yummy and divine snacks, the public can be found waiting in swarms. However, with the amount of spices and oil used, this is not so healthy if had often. Yet, our mind is fickle. It is known to divert from our thoughts and determinations often. And the tempting aroma of these dishes doesn't help either. So, the only way to keep ourselves satisfied is to find a healthy alternative. Here is a recipe for a vada that is also a bit healthy for our health. Why you ask? Because these are made with rice. So, let’s get our kitchen utensils ready!

Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 20 minutes
Number of servings: 5-6 persons

Ingredients
Cooked Rice - 1 cup
Chopped Onions - 1/4 cup
Chopped Ginger - 1 tsp.
Chopped Garlic - 1 tsp.
Chopped Green Chilli - 1 Tsp.
Boiled Potato(Grated) - 1 no.
Grated Carrot - 1 no.
Chopped Mint leaves
Chopped Coriander leaves
Turmeric powder
Salt
Chilli powder - 1 tsp.
Cumin powder - 1 tsp.
Garam masala - 1/2 tsp.
Lemon - 1 no.
Ghee
Oil

Method:
1. Take a bowl, add 1 whole cup of Cooked rice, some finely chopped Onions, Ginger, Garlic, Green chilli, Grated boiled potato, Grated Carrot, Chopped Mint leaves and some Chopped Coriander leaves.





2. Now, add the series of spices - Season it with some salt, Turmeric powder, Chili powder, Cumin powder, Garam masala and the Juice of 1 Lemon.



3. Mix everything together and mash it well with your hand.



4. Grease your hands with Ghee or Oil and roll the mixture into small patties.



5. Take a wide saucepan and pour some oil.
6. Shallow fry the Rice Patties till they turn a beautiful golden-brown in colour.



7. Yummy and healthy Rice Cutlets are ready to be served.
